Boston Terrier

Boston Terrier

The Boston Terrier is a breed of dog that originated in the United States in the 19th century. The breed was developed by crossing the English Bulldog with the White English Terrier. The resulting dog was originally known as the American Bull Terrier, but was later renamed the Boston Terrier in honor of its Boston, Massachusetts origins. Boston Terriers were bred to be companion dogs, and they quickly became popular due to their charming personalities and distinctive tuxedo-like markings. They are small-to-medium-sized dogs, weighing between 10 and 25 pounds. They have a short, smooth coat that can be black, brindle, or seal in color, with white markings on their chest, face, and feet.  Famous owners of Boston Terriers include actors Ben Affleck and Ryan Gosling, both of whom have been spotted walking their Boston Terriers in public. Another well-known owner is former U.S. president Warren G. Harding, who had a Boston Terrier named Laddie Boy. The breed has also been recognized by various kennel clubs, including the American Kennel Club and the United Kennel Club. They are popular in dog shows and have also been used in various dog sports, including obedience, agility, and tracking.
