The Springer Spaniel is a breed of dog that originated in England, where it was bred for flushing and retrieving game birds. The breed is known for its athleticism, intelligence, and friendly personality.  The Springer Spaniel is a medium-sized dog that typically weighs between 40 to 55 pounds and stands between 18 to 21 inches tall at the shoulder. They have a medium-length, wavy coat that can be a variety of colors, including black and white, liver and white, and tri-color. The breed is known for its high energy and love of exercise, making it an excellent choice for active families.  Famous owners of Springer Spaniels include the former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, who owned a Springer Spaniel named Millie, and the actress and singer Miley Cyrus, who owns a Springer Spaniel named Mate. The breed has also been featured in popular culture, such as in the novel “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” which features a Springer Spaniel named Wellington as one of the characters.  Today, the Springer Spaniel remains a popular breed and is recognized by the American Kennel Club. They are known for their friendly and intelligent nature, as well as their love of exercise and outdoor activities.
