Shar-Pei Products

All Shar-Pei Products are handmade at Beau Designs. The Shar-Pei is a breed of dog that originated in China, where it was used for hunting, herding, and guarding. The breed is known for its distinctive wrinkled skin, which helped protect it from prey during hunting and made it more difficult for other animals to grab onto during fights.  The Shar-Pei is a medium-sized dog that typically weighs between 40 to 60 pounds and stands between 18 to 20 inches tall at the shoulder. They have a short, bristly coat that can be a variety of colors, including black, blue, fawn, and cream. The breed is known for its loyalty to its owners and can be wary of strangers, making it an excellent guard dog.  Famous owners of Shar-Peis include the actor Brad Pitt, who owned a Shar-Pei named Jacques, and the musician Jon Bon Jovi, who owns a Shar-Pei named Muttley. The breed has also been featured in popular culture, such as in the animated film “Mulan,” which features a Shar-Pei named Little Brother as one of the characters.  Today, the Shar-Pei remains a popular breed and is recognized by the American Kennel Club. They are known for their loyalty to their owners and their protective nature, making them an excellent choice for families and individuals who want a watchful and devoted companion.
