The Brahma chicken is a large, majestic breed known for its impressive size and gentle temperament. With its broad body, feathered legs, and upright posture, it stands out in any flock. Brahmas are often referred to as “gentle giants,” weighing up to 12 pounds for hens and 18 pounds for roosters. Their feathering is soft, with three main color varieties: light, dark, and buff. Despite their size, they are docile, making them great for backyard flocks. Brahmas are also decent layers, producing large brown eggs, particularly in colder months due to their hardy nature.
